NeoGram Text

Neogram Text is an optical variant of Neogram designed specifically for smaller sizes and extended reading. Built upon the foundation of the original family, it refines the neo-grotesque structure through a series of subtle optical adjustments aimed at improving clarity, rhythm, and overall readability across editorial, interface, and digital environments.

Rather than recreating the entire Neogram width system, Neogram Text focuses on the two most practical styles within the family — Normal and SemiCondensed. The design introduces more open spacing, refined proportions, and improved character distinction to create a smoother and more comfortable reading experience. A default binocular g adds warmth and familiarity to the text texture, while serif alternatives for the uppercase I and J improve recognition in smaller settings and dense layouts.

Inspired by the same Swiss modernist principles that shaped the original Neogram, Neogram Text balances neutrality with subtle personality. The family retains the clean geometric structure of its predecessor while evolving into a more functional tool for contemporary typography. Extensive OpenType features, alternative characters, symbols, arrows, fractions, and tabular figures make it highly adaptable across both print and screen applications.
